Here is your chance to win a one-of-a-kind Harley-Davidson trike.
Affectionately called ‘The Beast’, this 2022 Harley-Davidson FLRT Freewheeler 114 has been expertly serviced and looked after by the team at Sykes Harley-Davidson, and was donated by a St Wilfrid’s patient, Carol Fletcher to raise as much money as possible for the hospice.
As Carol and ‘The Beast’ were members of the Harley-Davidson 1066 Chapter for many years, the trike was escorted by Chapter members to the hospice, where it will sit proudly on display in the run up to the draw.
The draw will be made at the hospice Christmas Gala event on Friday 11th December.
Tickets are available online or from the hospice.
£100 per ticket
Ride or sell, it's up to you
The trike will be available for collection from Sykes Harley-Davidson in Hailsham, East Sussex. Delivery across the UK is available in conversation with Sykes who will be happy to assist.
If you decide the open road is not for you, Sykes Harley-Davidson will be happy to sell the trike on your behalf and you can realise the funds from the sale. The estimated value is £15,000.
The story behind 'The Beast'
The Beast was donated to the hospice by Carol Fletcher who received six months of what her son describes as ‘incredible care’ from St Wilfrid’s hospice.
“When she became ill, the team at the hospice were incredible,” said Carol’s son Matt. “Mum couldn’t stop saying how good they were. They visited her at home and made her feel really confident that she wasn't going to be in pain, which is something she was really happy about. They helped her get the right medication, and were there for her when she was struggling to get help elsewhere. And I used the hospice’s 24/7 support line – Hospice Line – so many times when her condition kept changing. Mum spent her last few days in the hospice, and it was truly the best place for her.
“Mum designed The Beast with help from Sykes Harley-Davidson, and it became her prize possession. I am glad she decided to leave her trike to the hospice. When we were there, we were looking at how much it costs to run the place, and I was shocked to see that 70% of the funds comes from donations. So, I’m hoping the trike raises a good amount and helps the hospice look after more people. I’m also hoping that The Beast gets to go on many more adventures with someone who will love it as much as Mum did.”
