Spider-Woman raises more than £1,200 for St Wilfrid’s

A hospice supporter has raised £1,272 for St Wilfrid’s after running Eastbourne Half Marathon dressed as Spider-Woman.

Francoise Kenyon wanted to draw attention to her fundraising and bring a smile to people’s faces.

“I thought why not dress up as a superhero for a day!” Francoise said. “I like dressing up and it was all for a good cause. Three people I know have died at St Wilfrid’s and they received such good care that I wanted to give something back.”

Francoise started her running journey with the popular Couch to 5K running app, and then, she said: “built my distance up slowly from 5km to a 10km run, a half marathon and since then I’ve done three full marathons. I enjoy running. It’s my time to put some tunes on and zone out. It clears my head and is good for my mental health.”

Francoise set out hoping to raise £500 but smashed her target by more than double, thanks to the support of family and friends.
