Polegate clinic raises nearly £7,000 for hospice care

For the past seven years, Podiatry & Wellness Clinic has been raising funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice through Easter and Christmas raffles. In total, the clinic has raised almost £7,000 in support of hospice care.

Lorraine Humphrey, owner of Podiatry & Wellness Clinic, said:

“After someone close to me was diagnosed with terminal cancer many years ago, I saw first-hand how important hospice care is.

I wanted to give back, so I decided to run regular raffles at my clinic for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. In the first year, I think my team and I raised a couple of hundred pounds, and each year the raffles grew bigger and better. Some years, we raise over £1,300 for the hospice, and it honestly couldn’t go to a better cause. Our patients really look forward to the raffles, and they’re all so passionate about helping us raise funds; some of them donate prizes!

A couple of years ago, my dad was cared for at St Wilfrid’s and said it was like being in a five-star hotel. All the staff and volunteers were amazing, and they supported our entire family. I will always be thankful for the care my dad received, and it makes our fundraising even more meaningful.

As a business, we’re proud to be a St Wilfrid’s Silver Partner, and it’s wonderful to see the community getting involved in our raffles. We’re currently promoting our Easter raffle in the clinic so please do stop by if you’d like to buy a ticket.”
