St Wilfrid’s is looking for people to take on an exhilarating fire or ice challenge to raise vital funds for hospice care.

Fire Walk is on the evening of Saturday 28^th March and sees brave participants walk barefoot along three metres of red-hot embers outside the hospice building in Broadwater Way, Eastbourne.

All walkers receive a motivational seminar beforehand, delivered by the expert trainers at Time4Change who run the event. Only 100 places are available, with early bird tickets costing £25 until 15^th February. Visit stwhospice.org/fire to find out more about the event, which is sponsored by Taylor Engley.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, A Dip a Day invites supporters to brave the cold every day of March. People can choose a freshwater swim, sea dip, icy cold plunge in a tub or even a cold shower. And if they don’t have time for a dip every day, they can team up with friends and share the dips out between them. It’s free to sign up to the challenge at stwhospice.org/dipaday.

Jemma Campbell, Events Fundraiser, said: “It’s time to face your fears and take part in the hottest or coldest event of the year – or you could even do both! We’ve held the Fire Walk before and it’s a really popular event, with tickets selling fast. But this is our first A Dip a Day, and there’s no limit to the number of people who can take part, so we’re hoping lots of you will want to give it a go.”
