Triple lottery win for St Wilfrid’s supporters

Our supporters were on a winning streak when a third player scooped £2,000 in the Local Hospice Lottery in support of St Wilfrid’s.

Our latest winner, Julie Bartholomew, nearly didn’t pick up when we rang to break the good news. “It’s unusual for me to answer the phone because we’ve had a lot of scam calls,” she said. “So, I was so shocked when it was St Wilfrid’s because I wasn’t expecting to win anything. It’s really nice news, especially when you’ve been playing for a few years. You kind of forget!”

It didn’t take Julie long to plan where the money would be spent. “After Christmas, we’ve got a few big birthdays coming up. It’s my grandson’s 18th, my son’s 50th and my husband’s 60th. We’ve got a few small things to do on the house as well, so the win will take the pressure off,” she said.

Julie and her husband are familiar faces in our Street Café. “We visit quite a lot and come for a Sunday lunch. The hospice is such a lovely place, and everyone is so friendly and welcoming,” she said.

Local Hospice Lottery is a fun and meaningful way to support hospice care while being in with a chance to win a cash prize. Every entry helps fund vital services for patients and families and, at just £5 per month, you could be next.

Signing up is quick and easy and your support makes a real difference. Visit stwhospice.org/lottery
