Reflecting on Inter Faith Week 2024

St Wilfrid’s Hospice’s Spiritual Support Lead Caroline Lovett reflects on Inter Faith Week 2024.

The week of 10th – 17th November is Inter Faith Week 2024.

I joined St Wilfrid’s during the summer of this year, while the ducklings were still waddling around the inner garden.

Connecting with different faith groups is an important and wonderful part of my role.

At the beginning of November, I went along to the open day at the Mosque in Eastbourne. What a welcoming community and truly inspiring, beautiful building. One of the highlights was the amazing spread of mouth-watering food that had my taste buds dancing with joy!

The following day I took part in the Lights of Love Remembrance service at St John’s Church. Again, what a welcoming community and beautiful service remembering our loved ones. This was followed by a quintessential vintage tea.

This has got me thinking about the way we share food and celebrate life.

Anyone who has visited St Wilfrid’s will know that our café is always a hubbub of an array of delicious cakes and infamous scones!

Our community has a diverse mix of faiths, and this week is an ideal opportunity to celebrate them all.
