Family set to holiday abroad, thanks to lottery win

A surprise win in the Local Hospice Lottery in support of St Wilfrid’s means Malcolm Wheeler and his family are looking forward to a foreign holiday next year.

As a supporter of St Wilfrid’s for over 10 years, Malcolm was surprised when he received a phone call to say he’d won £2,000.

“I was pretty shocked to hear that I had won the main prize – especially as I had forgotten that my donation to St Wilfrid’s also went into a lottery. It was a lovely surprise to hear I had won as I never seem to win anything!” Malcolm said.

“We are planning to put the winnings towards a family holiday next year. As there are five of us, we don’t get overseas very often so this will be a wonderful help to getting us somewhere nice.

“I play the Local Hospice Lottery to provide some funding to help these vital services that are there for the community which provide so much comfort at such challenging times in people’s lives,” he added.

“I would encourage everyone to play the Local Hospice Lottery. You can support this incredibly worthy cause whilst being in with a chance of winning a prize at the same time.”
