Opera at the Movies will now take place on Saturday 7th March 2026 at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, 7pm to 11pm.

Many celebrated filmmakers feature opera in their movies knowing that this will add an extra dramatic and emotional dimension to key scenes. Opera brings a depth and richness to the cinematic experience like no other music.
Opera at the Movies is a programme of passion, drama and humour with arias and ensembles from the great works of Handel, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Offenbach, Gilbert & Sullivan and more. Sit back and listen to a programme of superb opera as seen at the movies including Pretty Woman, A Room with a View, Shawshank Redemption, Mission Impossible, Gallipoli, The Father, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Quartet, Atonement, The Godfather, Amadeus, Mrs Doubtfire, Mr Bean’s Holiday and more…
This joyous evening of song will begin with a welcome drink reception, followed by a two course meal, served whilst you enjoy this immersive performance.
London Festival Opera
London Festival Opera has a considerable reputation and features distinguished singers from the Royal Opera, English National Opera and Glyndebourne with outstanding young artists.

Engagements have included a private performance in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II, charity performances in the presence of HM The King when Prince of Wales, HRH The Princess Royal, the Presidents of France and Malta, the Ambassador at the British Embassy in Paris, for the Prime Minister at Downing Street and Chequers, and as a guest company at La Fenice opera house in Venice.
The company has appeared in many theatres in the UK including Windsor Theatre Royal, The Richmond Theatre, Malvern Theatre, Jersey Opera House, New Theatre Oxford, Buxton Opera House, Grand Theatre Blackpool and Gala Theatre Durham. London Festival Opera has presented ‘Opera Magic’ in schools and theatres to thousands of children and is committed to introducing the next generation to the magical world of opera.
