We have many different volunteer roles at the hospice to suit different people and we have a volunteer induction process in place to support you to find the right role. Some roles are always open for applications and some are recruited at specific times throughout the year.

You can find out more information about specific volunteer projects and areas we are specifically recruiting to on our Current Opportunities page.

Finding the right role for you….

The Host Role:

The role with the greatest number of volunteers at the hospice is the host role and it reflects our view of volunteers as the lifeblood of our organisation.

In 2013 when we moved to our beautiful new building we introduced this role to enable volunteers to work flexibly across the hospice and respond to changing demands.

Hosts work in the Street Café, on the Inpatient unit and the Wellbeing Centre providing a friendly smile and listening ear whilst carrying out vital support tasks which means no day is ever the same.

Sorting Centre, Eastbourne:

In our sorting centre we are looking for people to help us to process our donations, unearth hidden gems and  assist the team with Gift Aid and telephone enquiries.

The van team:

Our van team keeps us up and running supporting the van drivers with our deliveries and collections

Our charity shops:

We are always on the look out for sales and merchandising assistants in our shops, as well as social media gurus and administrative magicians.
