During this extraordinary time of disruption, it is likely that we each have some anxiety and uncertainty.

We may have questions around, why is this happening? when will it come to an end? when will life get back to some normality?

There may be very real concerns about our family and loved ones including our own wellbeing as we support those in our care.

These questions and concerns are a normal response to what is happening. They relate to our spiritual wellbeing which especially through this time is equally as important as our physical and emotional wellbeing. In the suddenly altered pace of our lives we can discover the stillness we perhaps crave.

Spiritual wellbeing isn’t necessarily about religious belief. It is very personal and individual. Spirituality relates to our life story and experience, finding meaning and purpose. This includes the significant moments of our lives, our relationship with ourselves, our family and loved ones and the community in which we live and work in addition to the global community that we are part of. Embracing our spirituality enables us to find some peace in times of uncertainty and to live in the present moment even as we face an uncertain future.

Especially at this time, it can help to share our story. It is OK to ask for help. As Spiritual Support Lead, I am available to offer individual time to both staff and volunteers to support and sustain you.

This can take place either in person or by telephone or via Zoom, either within work time or at a time to suit you. Please contact Debbie Smith, Spiritual Support Lead at [email protected] or  01323 434244
