About us:
St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides end of life support to the population of Eastbourne and the surrounding parts of East Sussex, from our stunning hospice building and through our highly skilled community teams. We are rated an ‘outstanding’ provider by the Care Quality Commission and have a clear vision of reaching increasing numbers of local patients and their families, in close collaboration with our community.

We provide a supportive working environment, which is demonstrated through our values: compassionate, professional, progressive and respectful and these are embedded in our culture. We have a dynamic learning environment which actively promotes and facilitates opportunities for career progression.

The Role:

Do you have great leadership skills and a strong commercial awareness?

Do you love to re-love with the ability to spot the value of goods and price them accordingly?

Could you be a face in the local community to promote awareness of St Wilfrid’s and the important work that we do?

If so, we may have the role for you!

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced retailer to join our Retail team in a bank capacity. The successful individual will be required to cover across all of our shops in Eastbourne, Hailsham, Uckfield, Seaford and Heathfield and therefore a flexible attitude is essential.

You will have a hands-on approach, with the ability to recruit and motivate a team of volunteers to maximise sales and generate income to support the work of St Wilfrid’s. You will be able to demonstrate proven success in achieving sales targets, with the ability to influence and increase sales and productivity.

You will enjoy providing excellent customer service and will generate stock through donations to ensure our stores meet their sales targets.

Experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage; however, this role would also suit a candidate with high street retail experience. As this is a retail post, regular weekend work is required.

This role is an excellent opportunity to become part of a strong retail team offering career progression to develop your skills and experience as a retailer in the charity sector. We have exciting plans for the future with expansion on the horizon and we would love for you to be a part of this!

Benefits included:

  • We offer a generous holiday entitlement of 27 days per year plus bank holidays
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Discounted cinema tickets
  • Employee assistance programmes
  • Additional training opportunities
  • Supportive working environment
