About the role

You will be assisting our minibus drivers as they pick up patients from home and bring them to the Wellbeing Centre for appointments and classes. No driving is required for this role as you sit and chat with patients on the journey and help them in and out of their homes and the hospice. 

Key responsibilities

  • Accompanying the Minibus Driver to pick up patients from home and helping them into the hospice
  • Collecting patients from the Wellbeing Centre at the specified time and helping them into the minibus
  • Making sure that the patient is seated safely and comfortably
  • Chatting and offering a listening ear to patients
  • Feedback any concerns to the appropriate member of hospice staff
  • To comply with relevant hospice policies and procedures

Your skills, abilities and qualifications

  • Physically able to meet the demands of the role
  • Good communication skills and personable
  • Emotional resilience in the face of the difficult circumstances faced by those with a life-shortening illness
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Aged 18+
