Every year the hospice works with a large number of local solicitors, who give their time free of charge to write wills for those wanting to write a will for the first time, amend an existing will, or change the contents of a will in the light of new Government and tax liabilities and allowances.

This year, despite the lockdown, three of our local firms would like to support the work of the hospice in this way, which we are incredibly thankful for!

The solicitors are not charging for their time, instead, we encourage the public to consider leaving a gift in their wills for the support of the patients and their care by our wonderful clinical teams. Alternatively, a donation is possible.

New Government allowances on Inheritance Tax could mean that a gift in a will could not only benefit St Wilfrid’s but also families and friends, as the amount of tax on estates can be lowered by charitable giving.

If you are interested or would like more information please download our new leaflet below to look through and would ask you to consider taking up this offer if you think that you can help and it would be a benefit to you.

Please call or email me if you would like to discuss this further or want me to sort out an appointment in the diaries of one of the firms taking part.

So do get in touch with me if you would like an appointment.

With every good wish,

John Summers
