Main site Volunteering with St Wilfrid's Opportunities Blog Volunteer Hub Host Where: St Wilfrid's Hospice Inpatient Unit, Street Café and Wellbeing Centre When: four hours per week or fortnight, Monday to Sunday Shift pattern: 8am to 12pm, 12pm to 4pm and 4pm to 8pm DBS: enhanced check with adult barring required About the roleAs a Host, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients, their guests and other visitors to the hospice. Always wearing a friendly smile, you’ll be there to greet and guide, lend a listening ear and be on-hand to carry out support tasks. No day is ever the same! Key responsibilities Meeting and greeting visitors to the hospice in a helpful and approachable way Working as part of a team of Host Volunteers Providing refreshments for patients and visitors Working as guided by the Host Liaison Be part of creating a supportive and relaxed hospice atmosphere To pass on information and concerns to the relevant member of staff Complying with relevant hospice policies and procedures Your skills, abilities and qualifications Sociable Good interpersonal skills Approachable Calm Cheerful Courteous Observant Welcoming.
