Business Awards 2022
Do you know a local business who has provided outstanding support for the hospice? Perhaps one of your colleagues has always been a champion for St Wilfrid’s, or you’re a local business owner who has done some fantastic fundraising for us?
The St Wilfrid’s Hospice Business Awards are back for 2022, and we want to hear from you! Nominations are open now until 31st August 2022.
How it works
This year, we have six fantastic categories in which you can nominate either your own business, or a business that you feel is well-deserving of the award. Please find more information on the categories below, followed by an online nomination form for you to complete.
Best New Supporter
This category gives us the opportunity to thank a brand-new supporter of the hospice. 2021’s winner was Crane & Co Estate Agents, who supported us with several generous donations and gave us a donation every time they received a customer review in a creative scheme!
Best In-Kind Donation
This category recognises that not all amazing donations are monetary. Many local businesses support the Hospice with donations of items or services in-kind, and we want to thank them for their generosity. Last year’s winners were Southern Co-Operative, who have donated sandwiches and refreshments for our volunteers at large events, donated lots of lovely treats for staff and volunteers at Christmas time and provided raffle prizes.
Outstanding Long-Term Supporter
This category gives us the chance to look back at the amazing support that some local businesses have given us over the years. 2021’s winners were our neighbours in Hampden Park, Gardners Books, who have loyally supported the hospice for many years and sponsored our special Ruby Anniversary book.
Outstanding Individual Supporter
This category is for the individuals who really go the extra mile to support us – perhaps they organise lots of brilliant work events, have encouraged their colleagues to get creative and fundraise for St Wilfrid's or have taken on a fabulous challenge of their own. 2021’s winner was Denise Banfield of Tension Technology, who has been a long-term supporter of the hospice through her business, attending events and fundraising auctions, and donating generously to help us buy vital PPE last year.
Best Event Supporter
This category honours local businesses who have provided wonderful support for our events, or organised creative and fabulous fundraising events of their own! In 2021, The Park Lane Group took home this award. They generously sponsored the Pink colour station at our Rainbow Run event, had lots of staff take part in the event and raised a fantastic amount in participant sponsorship too!
Most Creative Fundraising
A brand-new category for 2022, this award celebrates the most innovative fundraising ideas that our corporate supporters have come up with. We love it when our businesses come up with something new and unique to raise funds and awareness for the hospice!
PLEASE NOTE: The closing date for nominations is Wednesday 31st August 2022.
