St Wilfrid’s Hospice Business Awards 2021

St Wilfrid’s Hospice Business Awards 2021

Our annual Business Awards are back for 2021! In October 2019, St Wilfrid’s held our very first Business Awards. Corporate supporters both new and well-established, along with individuals who have made a significant contribution to the hospice’s work, were recognised on the night. After such a successful and enjoyable evening, the Business Awards are back to celebrate the incredible support that our corporate supporters give the hospice.

How it works

This year, we have seven fantastic categories in which you can nominate either your own business or a business that you feel is well-deserving of the award. Please find more information on the categories below, followed by an online nomination form for you to complete.

Categories

Best New Supporter

This award gives us the opportunity to thank a brand-new supporter of the hospice. 2019’s winners were The Beach Deck & Treasure Island, who got involved with us in a big way by hosting our Starlight Stroll event, took part in our Golf Day, and provided some brilliant raffle prizes too!

Best In-Kind Donation

A brand-new category for 2021, that recognises that not all amazing donations are monetary. Many local businesses support the hospice with donations of items or services in-kind, and we want to thank them for their generosity.

Outstanding Long-Term Supporter

This award gives us the chance to look back at the amazing support that some local businesses have given us over the years. 2019’s winners were Barwells Solicitors, who have supported the hospice for many years in a variety of ways, including our Free Wills scheme.

Outstanding Individual Supporter

This category is for the individuals who really go the extra mile to support us – perhaps they organise lots of brilliant work events, have encouraged their colleagues to get creative and fundraise for St Wilfs, or have taken on a fabulous challenge of their own. 2019’s winner Julie Eltham, of the Athena Network, had championed St Wilfrid’s as Athena’s Charity of the Year, fundraising for us in many ways.

Best Event Supporter

This category honours local businesses who have provided wonderful support for our events, or organised creative and fabulous fundraising events of their own! In 2019 the Langham Hotel took home this award, as they are responsible for creating and sponsoring our annual Pancake Race, which started in 2010, along with other brilliant events that they have put on to raise money for us.

Outstanding Pandemic Support

A special category for 2021 only, the Outstanding Pandemic Support award was created to recognise and thank the local businesses who have provided the hospice with vital and invaluable support during the Pandemic.

This may have been through physical PPE donations, financial donations to help us buy essential protective items or even special items like chocolate or drinks to keep our staff’s spirits up during the past year. We have been so touched by all the wonderful help and thoughtful gestures we have received from local businesses during this time.

Business of the Year

A brand-new award for this year, to honour the incredible businesses who kindly support us. We are always bowled over by the generosity of local businesses in our area, and this special award exists to honour a truly exceptional business that has supported us over the past year.

PLEASE NOTE: The closing date for nominations is Monday 16th August 2021.

The Awards will take place at The Winter Gardens in Eastbourne at 7pm on Friday 3rd December 2021, as part of our Ruby Gala Event.
