Get involved In memory giving Donating at funerals When organising a memorial or funeral service for a loved one, many people choose to ask for donations to be given in lieu of flowers. This is a lovely way for family and friends to make a donation and feel they are giving something back to the charity as a show of thanks, whilst remembering a loved one. How can I arrange a donation box? If you would like to collect donations at a memorial or funeral service, St Wilfrid’s Hospice is able to provide you with donation collection envelopes. These envelopes can be placed on pews or tables for those attending the service. Each envelope has the space to write bank card details, insert a cheque or cash, and complete a Gift Aid Declaration if the donor is eligible. The envelope has our address on, and can be sent directly to us at a later date if preferred, we only ask you to please ensure that the name of the person to be remembered is on the envelopes so that we can attribute all donations in their memory. We like to write to the next of kin or designated family member to thank them for choosing St Wilfrid’s Hospice to receive these kind and generous donations and let them know how much has been given in memory.
