Below you will find a list of services available of those who may need them during the Covid-19 pandemic.


Community Services

1. Rodmill Post Office and shop (part of a parade of shops opposite the DGH) are offering a home delivery service.

2. Tesco has stores in all of the towns in the catchment and is opening Mon, Wed, and Fri from 9-10 a.m. for their elderly and vulnerable customers.

3. Iceland has stores in Eastbourne, Langney, and Hailsham and is being encouraged to dedicate opening hours for the elderly and vulnerable on all days. The Hailsham store opened on Wednesday for these customers between 9-11 a.m.

4. Asda has stores in Eastbourne, Hailsham and are opening for the elderly and vulnerable from 8-9 a.m. in Eastbourne and 6-9.00 a.m. in Hailsham

5. Sainsbury has stores in Eastbourne, Heathfield, and Newhaven and is opening from 7-8.00 a.m. for the elderly and vulnerable. They are also offering priority access to online delivery slots for those with a disability or who are over 70.

6. Lime Cross Nursery in Herstmonceux is offering customers a telephone service to purchase plants etc. which they will then deliver. Their cafe is also offering a phone service and the food can be collected from their car park. They are also putting together vegetable boxes and essential groceries which can also be collected from their car park

7. Waitrose are now keeping the first hour of opening for the elderly, vulnerable and those caring for them. They have stores in Eastbourne, Heathfield and Uckfield. 

8. Cinnamon Trust will help with dog walking trips to the vet etc - this is a national organisation that sources local volunteers and has asked current volunteers, like me, to say if they can do more to support individuals self-isolating care for their pets.

9. Manor Park Surgery, GP Russel Brown, is posting live updates on specific topics such as social distancing, what to do if you’re on immunosuppressive drugs and social isolation in the near future

10. Co-op and Connell’s in Polegate M&S shops in BP garages appear to be better stocked at the moment particularly is you need toilet roll

11. Best of Eastbourne & Best of Polegate; individuals are posting offers of help online

12. Helping the Elderly & Vulnerable during Coronavirus Outbreak set up by Nikki Brown Hampden Park

13. Cook Eastbourne are offering a delivery service across Eastbourne & Polegate - ‘award-winning frozen meals’

14. Old Orchard Nursery. Burwash – The farm shop is offering food delivery of food. Contact Louise 07969 778985

17. The Wheel Inn, Burwash.  Offering meals delivered daily to the over 70’s and those self-isolating. They can also deliver milk and bread. Contact Sam on 07566 238120 for cost/further details,

18. The Middle House, (gastropub) Mayfield. They can deliver their frozen meals.  Contact 01435 872146 for further details.

20. Co-op offering priority shopping for vulnerable customers and those who care for them.  Monday-Friday 9am-10am and Sunday 10am-11am

22. Heathfield Union Church and Kings Church have volunteers able to help in North of the catchment and have a list of local groups that they can signpost too for shopping services, please call 01435 863786 or 01435 846646 to chat with them.
