The importance of Trusts

Charitable Trusts are a vital income stream for St Wilfrid’s, in many cases providing us with funding for services or equipment directly for a patient's benefit that we would not be able to source from elsewhere.

In the past 12 months this has included funding to provide nurses to care for patients within their own homes, funding towards our 24/7 Nurse Line through to equipment such as mattresses and call-alarm systems within our Inpatient Unit.

The generous support of the Sussex Masons

St Wilfrid’s has been privileged to receive backing for a number of years from Sussex Masonic Lodges towards our Inpatient Unit. In the past 12 months this has led to us being able to fund vital equipment including syringe drivers, call-alarm systems, TV remotes and fall sensor kits. We receive no funding from the NHS towards these equipment purchases and the funding that the Masons provides has enabled us to continue to offer the best end of life care possible.

One such lodge was the Chatsworth Lodge, who kindly donated a cheque of £800 to us, to provide patients with a call-alarm system and non-slip cushions.

Support from new Trusts

We always welcome the opportunity to show new charitable Trusts/ Trustees around our hospice to show the care we provide. Please contact our Trust & Legacy Fundraiser, Mark Bond, to find out more - 01323 434279 or email [email protected]
