Animazing Studio played host to a very special Crafty Friday involving the creative St Catherine's and video production equipment!

Right next to our Furniture Centre and Donation Centre, the Animazing Studio was the perfect spot to play, learn and experiment with digital tools and practical models for this one-off collaborative Crafty Friday. Joined by the pupils of St Catherine's for the morning, our brief was simple: create some amazing stop motion animations using pre-existing figures and create our own stories - as well as make our own characters from scratch.

Drawing on the illustration abilities, creative thinking and problem solving faculties of this bright and enthusiastic group, host Paul Young led the groups into creating some fun short pieces with professional studio equipment and software. Paul said:

'We were very excited to work with the St Wilfrid's Hospice team to offer a studio tour to the students from St Catherine's College. It was great to see how engaged the students were on the day and I'm looking forward to seeing how they use their experience to inspire their studies.'

Christina Bawden, teacher at St Catherine's College, said: 'The pupils were super excited and said 'this is the best school trip I have ever been on, even ones when I have been abroad!'
