Get involved Our events Virtual Three Peaks Challenge - Available now Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon! Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Mount Snowdon. These are the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, and together, make up the infamous Three Peaks Challenge. With a combined height of 3,407m, these three mountains are not for the faint-hearted, and we are offering you an exciting opportunity to take on this amazing challenge…well, sort of! The St Wilfrid’s Hospice Virtual Three Peaks Challenge is back and now is a better time than ever to get involved. We challenge you to walk, jog, run 55km or 72,180 steps within 30 days.55km is equal to the walking distance up and down each of the Three Peaks, which is no easy task. Our V3P allows you to complete this challenge up and down the hallways and in your own home, in your back garden, your living room or even your kitchen…providing you keep at least a 2-meter distance from other people! This challenge is open to anyone, and all you’ll need is a pedometer – most smartphones have these inbuilt, or there are lots of free apps that will track your steps for you. It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to fitness or you’re a world-class athlete; the aim of this challenge is to complete the 72,180 steps and do something positive whilst we are all social distancing. Finishers will receive a limited edition medal, made specifically for this challenge, which will be sent out in the post or can be collected from the Hospice.* The challenge costs just £20 to join and we’re asking that you fundraise as much as you can. It costs £27.50 for an inpatient’s meals for one day, £50 to cover the running costs of our hospice community cars, and £100 for a Registered Nurse to provide care on our Inpatient Unit for one day. So however much you can raise, you really will be making a big difference – and we need your support now more than ever to ensure we can continue to provide care for our patients. So, that leaves us with one question: Are you ready to explore the rugged terrain of your own home and raise money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice? To sign up, please use the form below. Note: at the time of writing the Government guidelines are to leave the house for one form of exercise a day, whether that is a run, walk or cycle. There are also social distancing guidelines in place with a particular emphasis on staying at least 2m from other people that aren’t in your household. Please follow this advice and keep this in mind whilst completing the V3P. Please note you are paying to enter a Virtual Race. The medal is a reward for completing the challenge and submitting evidence by the deadline date *Medals will be sent out or available to collect once social distancing guidelines are lifted.
