Early Bird tickets on sale until 9th August!

2020 has been a difficult year; It’s been a time where we’ve needed to be together but have had to be apart. The Coronavirus pandemic has kept us from family and friends, our lives have been paused. We are looking forward to a time we can be together again, even if it means keeping a little distance!

We would love to invite you to join us on the 12th of September for a very special Starlight Stroll. Join us for a 4-mile walk along the beautiful Eastbourne Seafront, and lay a special lantern at the Italian Gardens in memory of a loved one who is no longer with us.  At 5pm, our Starlight team will transport all the lanterns back to the Hospice, and light the garden up in a special live stream event, which you can join from the comfort of your own homes.

Last year, more than 1000 people joined us on an amazing evening and raised over £85,000, which supported vital Hospice care for people in our community.

This year, we are aiming to raise over £100,000 so that we can continue to support our patients and their families in the wake of the effects that Covid-19 has had on our services. You can follow our fundraising progress by clicking this link for our JustGiving.com page

Social Distancing

We have worked incredibly hard to make this event safe, socially distanced, and enjoyable for you all. Some of it will feel familiar; a walk along the seafront a lantern to place in the garden and a time to remember your loved one. However, some things will be different so that we can keep everyone reassuringly safe.  We have made a handy ‘Social Distancing at Starlight Stroll’ document that details all the changes, which you can download here. However, here are a few of the key ways we’ve changed Starlight Stroll this year:

  • We have elongated the event and it will now be taking place between 10am and 4pm instead of over an evening.
  • We will be giving all participants a block of 1 hour throughout the day to register in. This helps keep our participants safe as we can monitor the number of people registering at 1 time, and will avoid a large queue at the garden end of the walk
  • We will make clear, 2m markings on the ground to help participants know where to stand to keep
  • T-shirts are not included in your registration fee this year, as they are being provided by Hartland Hoodies via their online shop. This means that the T-shirts will be sent directly to your homes and will make sure they come into contact with as few people as possible before they get to you
  • Under 5's are free to attend the event and will need to be booked in using the form below. They will be allocated the same time that you select when you book your ticket.

This year, in order to make sure Starlight Stroll stays as socially distant as possible, we’ve teamed up with Hartland Hoodies to bring you an extra special Starlight Stroll 2020 T-shirt. The T-shirts are available in a range of sunset-inspired colours and are available in both children’s and adult’s sizes. The T-shirts are just £5.50 for children’s sizes and £7 for adults.

T-shirts can be ordered directly from their website and can either be collected from the hospice, or for a small fee, can be delivered directly to your home. This means that you won’t have to collect your T-shirt on the day, and will avoid having to queue before your walk to collect them. Also, it means your T-shirt will go through as few people as possible before the day. In addition to the T-shirts, this year we have hoodies in a wide range of colours available to purchase from £12, and star pin badges for just £2.
