Seven Sisters Astronomical Society (SSAS) is holding an evening of stargazing at Carter's Corner on Saturday 9th February 2019 to raise money for St Wilfrid's. Tickets are £8 per person and a tea or coffee and refreshment is included in the price.

A 40-minute talk on the Pleiades (the Seven Sisters Constellation) will be given by Melanie Davies, FRAS, Science Director & Planetarium Astronomer. This will be visible during February and hopefully (weather permitting) on the evening it will be seen by all. We are also hoping to be able to view the moon and any other planets/stars. We will also be holding a grand raffle with many prizes from local businesses.

In the event of extremely bad weather, the event will still go ahead, and telescopes will be set up inside and be available for public to look at and talk to members of the society. The public should be advised to wrap up warmly and wear sensible footwear as the event will partially be on grass. Parking on-site.

SSAS only has 60 tickets for this event, and they will be sold on a first come-first served basis, so do not hesitate and miss out on this great opportunity!

Please email your name and how many tickets you require to [email protected]
Once the email is received you will be contacted with payment details.

Please note ticket sales CLOSE on Saturday 2nd February at 11am, and no tickets can be purchased after this date.
