Our annual Lights of Love event will look a little different this year

As we head towards Christmas we wanted to find a way for you to remember those you have lost and for us to be together in a new and different way. Our annual Lights of Love event is so important to everyone and we hope that you will join us as we remember together. You can make a dedication to your loved one and we will create a star and hang it on our hospice tree for you.

Visiting the Lights of Love Tree

Thank you for your patience.  We know that there are people who have been waiting for news of when they can book to visit the Lights of Love tree; we have had to wait until we knew we were out of the second lockdown and that guidelines would allow us to invite you to the garden.  But now we’re ready to go and if you would like to come and visit the tree then we invite you to book a time to do so.

Wednesday 16th December: 4pm – 7pm

Thursday 17th December: 4pm – 7pm

To comply with current restrictions, we will be booking a maximum of 6 people to visit the garden every 15 minutes.

There is no charge for visiting the tree.

To book a slot, please call the fundraising team on 01323 434290

Lights of Love Online Service - Sunday 13th December

Sadly the continuing restrictions of the pandemic mean that we cannot hold our usual services.  Instead, we streamed a Lights of Love event via YouTube on Sunday 13th December. You can view the service below.

During the service, we will be lighting candles and there will be an opportunity for you to join in by lighting your own candle at home. You might like to have a candle ready before the service begins.

Your donation will help ensure that no one dies alone, afraid or in pain

The coronavirus pandemic has changed many things for St Wilfrid’s, but not the care that we give our patients. We have remained committed to our philosophy that no one should die alone, afraid or in pain; our wonderful care team have supported patients and families in the same way that they have always done. With your help and continued support, we will continue to do so. We ask that you consider making a donation to St Wilfrid’s this Christmas.

  • £100 could pay for a Nurse for a day, providing care to patients in our Inpatient Unit or in the community.

  • £50 could pay for the Community Nursing team car to be out visiting patients for a day.

  • £25 could pay for a call to our 24/7 Nurse Line, providing essential support to patients and carers.

Booking for this event has now closed.
