Successful cake sale makes money for Tug of war club and hospice care As you can imagine we receive a lot of mail in the course of any given week. We deal with a whole range of mail from invoices to thank you cards and beyond. We also receive a regular amount of letters about your fundraising stories. We are thankful for those who write to us to let us know what they have been doing to raise money for local hospice care. The ongoing generosity of our local communities helps us to support over 1,300 people a year. Last week we received a letter from a ladies Tug of War team who on the 2nd March held a fundraising coffee morning. Based in Heathfield, Oxney Vines Cross Ladies Tug of War Club formed in late 2018 and as a newly formed club, they needed a range of kit and equipment so they could compete. So, Oxney Vines decided to raise funds while also supporting a local charity too. The club chose to split any money raised 50/50 between their new kit and St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Katie Plumley, the team's Treasurer, said, ‘[St Wilfrid’s has] helped in the past, the family of some of our team members and we are hugely grateful for the work you do in the local area.’ As a charity, we are thankful for the support of all our community fundraisers and love the amazing stories of people raising money in creative ways. Thank you Oxney Vines Cross Ladies Tug of War Club for raising £243.15 for St Wilfrid's and we hope you have a great season ahead.
