Our blog Open Gardens at Friston Place a sunny success Our Open Gardens last weekend was in sight of the Seven Sisters and the classic beauty of the setting was matched only by the glorious weather. We talked to one of our Open Gardens Committee organisers, Patsy Thomas, for more detail about the day. 'We had a great day and raised a total of just over £5000 for the hospice with refreshments raising £1663.' The catering stall was especially busy when we had a large number from a local rambling club - one of heir members happens to make cakes for us! It was busy generally and well supported as this is always a popular Open Garden. There is an amazing garden full of beautiful flower beds and features, our main stalls including raffle, tombola, plant sales, The Hub, hospice crafts and Name the toy. There were also various other people with their stalls showcasing jewellery, preserves, greetings cards, stained glass, The Very Nice Handbag company and Simply Sussex Produce. All the stalls did well and our plant stall even sold out! One of the best finds this year is the Handbag stall, they do amazingly well!' You can see more of our Open Gardens at our events page.
