St Wilfrid’s annual Pancake Race returned on the 5th of March for the tenth year.

After a morning of close heats, daring slips - and rogue seagulls! - HMD Sealless Pumps (Sundyne) emerged victorious, and managed to prise the coveted St Wilfrid’s Hospice Pancake Race trophy away from two-time winners, Town Property.

On the day, twenty teams from local businesses laced up their running shoes, adorned their sweatbands and battled it out to raise money for local hospice care. Which at the time of writing stands at an incredible £4,262.50 and increasing as teams declare their totals. And although it’s important to celebrate sporting achievement, we feel fundraising feats deserve some applause, too!

Below are the top ten businesses ranked in order of the sponsorship money they raised for the event.

Thank you, we couldn’t do what we do without the support of our local community.
