Our blog Find hidden treasures at our new shop On Tuesday 19th June we opened the door of our new shop in Green Street, Old Town. The shop specialises in furniture and homewares, so you can decorate your home whilst supporting end of life care within your community - win win! A pleasure to welcome local MP @StephenLloydEBN to our Green Street Old Town shop today to meet staff Karen and Kerry and to check out our great display of furniture and homeware. Thanks for dropping by Stephen. @stwilfridstweet @StWilfridRetail pic.twitter.com/rDjkXSTRcq — David Scott-Ralphs (@ScottRalphs) August 7, 2018 Our shop was recently visited by Eastbourne MP, Stephen Lloyd. He chatted with staff and our CEO, David, as well as taking some goods home with him from our new stock - all great donations to a good cause! Karen, who has taken on the role of Community Shop Manager, was an existing member of the St Wilfrid's retail team and is the heart and soul of the new shop. With over 15 years of retail experience and a year's worth of experience with the hospice under her belt, she is the perfect person to lead the team and is very excited for what's to come. We recently opened a brand new shop in Green Street, Eastbourne! Have you had a chance to pop in? Open 9am to 5pm all week! #EastSussexhttps://t.co/3XGBrsHpQF — St Wilfrid's Hospice (@stwilfridstweet) June 25, 2018 "I was excited before the interview!", "I enjoy working for St Wilfrid's so much. It knocks socks off working for private companies and it gives you a buzz. I've got lots of ideas and I'm looking forward to putting them in to practice in a new shop." Fortunately, but unsurprisingly, the community welcomed us with open arms, with people almost queuing at the door! "I was apprehensive at first, but it's nice to have a charity shop selling something different." We received many lovely compliments, particularly about the bright and beautiful interior, which is credit to the hard work put in by Karen and the retail team. It's such a lovely light and airy space, and from comfy chairs and throws, to beautiful old cameras and frames, you are bound to find some treasures.
