We want to improve how we deliver hospice care, so we're asking why do we do things a certain way, how we measure our impact and how we can change our processes for the better. As a hospice our multi-disciplinary approach is something we wish to continue to strengthen and build upon, encouraging closer working between teams from different walks of life and specialisations.

Running regular feedback and staff development workshops to build our understanding of how to improve the delivery of our care is now a part of the St Wilfrid's Hospice mission. We want to ask:

'Why do we do it this way?’

‘What is the evidence that this is the right thing to do?’

‘Is there a better way?’

Development of a culture of inquiry in all aspects of hospice care is vital to taking our hospice from an Outstanding CQC hospice to a leading centre of research and thought around end of life care and palliative care.
