We were delighted to celebrate the successful completion of a 6 month volunteering program designed to help young people learn more about our clinical environment, gain valuable skills and help patients.

In a ceremony attended by Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd and many parents, siblings and supporters the Young Clinical Volunteers were given the chance to share memories of their time on the ward and hear the words of praise from the hospice leadership and Rhiannon Wheeler, Voluntary Services Manager.

The staff and community have been thrilled to see such a willing and enthusiastic group of volunteers transform into a tightly-knit part of our volunteering community at the hospice. The youthful energy and inspiring dedication of each of these young people in our second group of Young Clinical Volunteers has helped many patients and families, as well as providing valuable mentorship experience for many members of staff.

The hospice looks forward to their continued volunteering in different roles around the building and on the In Patient Unit.
