Making a Will

Even in what can seem to be the simplest of circumstances, it is generally advisable to use a solicitor or an accountant’s legal department to make a Will. It is possible to get a Will Making Kit from stationers and to do it yourself, but the risk can be a Will that won’t work, as you would have hoped. It might not be able to cope with unexpected future circumstances or is not tax efficient.

How to find a Solicitor

• The Citizen’s Advice Bureau can provide a list of local solicitors. You will find their numbers listed under the local branch e.g. Eastbourne Citizen’s Advice Bureau. www.citizensadvice.org.uk

• The institute of professional Will writers. www.ipw.org.uk
• A Bank and its Personal Clients Services Department.
