At St Wilfrid’s we take a holistic approach, meaning that we get to know our patients as a whole person, rather than concentrating solely on their illness.
On admission, patients are assessed and a treatment plan is devised. Wherever possible, we involve the patient and family in the planning and delivery of care.
Patients admitted are cared for by a team, that may consist of nurses, doctors, therapists, Chaplain and volunteers, who work together to ensure that individual needs are met, as far as possible.
We aim to control symptoms and return patients to their preferred place of care. This involves liaising with the community-wide multi-professional health team including district nurses and community services.
