Family care

The unspoken worries and fears about a terminal illness can be very troubling and overwhelming.

These feelings can hinder making the most of the time that is left, or be an obstacle to communicating between loved ones.

We recognise the emotional, psychological and social care and support that might be needed during a terminal illness.  This support is available via the nursing and medical team but also through our Psychosocial services.

Psychosocial care addresses the psychological issues of coping with a life-limiting illness for the patient, and the impact on their family.  It involves spiritual beliefs, culture and values and the social factors which influence our lives.  Psychosocial care includes the practical aspects of care such as financial, housing and aids to daily living and overlaps with spiritual care.

We offer specialist knowledge and skills to support an individual, couple or family related to our patients.
