FUTURE OF ST WILFRID'S
Our plans to build a new 15-bed hospice have been refused.
Please help us in finding a new site to build a bigger, fit for purpose hospice to better serve the community.

Following Eastbourne Borough Councils’ shock decision to turn down plans to rebuild the hospice on the existing site in Mill Gap Road, we have decided to look for an alternative site and are launching the SOS or Support our Search campaign to enlist the community’s help.

Seven Truths about St Wilfrid’s Hospice:
• Only 15% of our income comes from the NHS. The remaining 85% is generated through donations and fundraising
• Our care is provided free of charge for everyone regardless of their income
• We care for patients with any illness that medical professionals have determined to be beyond the point of cure
• We care for everyone over the age of 18
• Our community stretches from Heathfield to Uckfield in the north and from Seaford to Pevensey in the south
• We care for many of our patients in their own homes through our Hospice at Home scheme
• We currently have just 10 beds and can only care for one in four people who need us – so please, Support Our Search for a new site to build a bigger purpose-built hospice
