Neil has been the Managing Director of a Hailsham Nursing Home for the last 21 years and recently retired when the business was sold. He was previously in the retail meat trade after taking over the family business in 1968. 

Neil became a Magistrate in 1976 and was Chairman of the Hailsham & Eastbourne Juvenile & Youth Courts for 10 years; he currently sits on the Sussex Eastern Division Bench in Eastbourne & Hastings. He has been a Governor at Grovelands Primary School, Hailsham and Hellingly Primary School and is currently a Trustee of Grovelands Acorns Pre-School in Hailsham.  

Neil was born in Hailsham and went to Eastbourne College and now lives in Hellingly with his wife and has 3 grown up children.
