David Scott-Ralphs, CEO of St Wilfrid's Hospice, Eastbourne

Chief Executive: David Scott-Ralphs

David was previously Chief Executive of Seeability, a national charity working with those with visual impairment and disability, for 13 years. David has worked in the not-for-profit sector for 25 years, beginning his work with charities at Macmillan in 1991, where he helped establish the first ever Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning before joining Mencap. With a background in fundraising and a passion for the cause of sight-loss charities, David is currently the Chairman of Vision Aid Overseas.

Chairman: Fiona MacIntyre

Fiona was a main Board Director at Penguin Random House, until she took early retirement in 2014. Fiona began her career in publishing straight from university, moving through various editorial roles, before she became Managing Director of Ebury Publishing, part of PRH, in 2004. Alongside her commercial responsibilities, she took particular interest in coaching and mentoring, both inside and outside her industry.

Medical Director: Dr David Barclay

David has been Medical Director since June 2007. His post is cross site, with 50% of his time spent supporting the palliative care service at Eastbourne District General Hospital, and the rest of his time providing a lead for the medical team at St Wilfrid's Hospice. David qualified in Medicine in 1994, in Aberdeen. After spending three years in emergency medicine and anaesthetics, he trained as a General Practitioner, before entering higher specialist training in palliative medicine where he worked at Trinity Hospice, Clapham, and St Christopher's Hospice, Sydenham.

Alan Breeze, St Wilfrid's Hospice trustee

Trustee: Alan Breeze

Alan was born and educated in Eastbourne. Following qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 1976, he took up employment in London as a manager at KPMG. In 1981, he set up Breeze & Associates, a local firm of chartered accountants. He was a long serving Board member of EAPAG (Chalk Farm project), and a previous co-owner of a residential care home in Eastbourne.

Patient and Family Support Director: Andrea Dechamps

Andrea has a background in social work/social pedagogy and counselling. She has worked in end of life care from the early days of AIDS, moving on to various roles in hospices, most recently as a senior manager at the Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead, and then as Director of Social Work, Bereavement and Welfare at St Christopher's Hospice. She has lectured internationally on psychosocial aspects of end of life care and has served as a trustee of a community bereavement service and also the Natural Death Centre. In 2012-13, Andrea was seconded to the National End of Life Care programme as their Social Care Lead for London.<

Trustee: Karen Planterose

Karen is Commercial Director of Horder Healthcare, which she joined in 2001 and became a Board member in 2009. Having started her career as a Registered Nurse, she has 14 years experience working in the independent healthcare sector. She lives on t he south coast with her husband Julian and their two children.

Nursing Director: Colin Twomey

Colin was appointed Nursing Director in October 2014, having joined the hospice as Head of Nursing in 2012. Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1988, Colin went on to achieve a Bachelors degree in Nursing and a Masters in Psychology. He specialised in cancer nursing, developing his knowledge and expertise in palliative care nursing before leading the Macmillan Specialist Nurse Service within the acute hospitals in Brighton. He has held many leadership roles throughout his career and achieved key service developments, backed up with further studies in Health Service Management.

Trustee: Paul Slide

Paul recently stepped down as a Chief Executive for Christian Publishing & Outreach who assist churches and other organisations with outreach and publicity resources. He's been involved in business and publishing for over 30 years, and is enthused by fresh ideas and community based projects. In his spare time, he cycles to keep fit. Paul lives in West Sussex and has been married for 25 years.

Trustee: David Turner

Prior to his retirement David was Chief Executive of Rother Homes, a local housing company and registered charity. During his career he was involved in a number of special needs projects involving both the statutory and voluntary sectors. Since his retirement, David has been active in the voluntary sector and is currently also a Trustee of Eastbourne Citizens Advice.

Trustee: Vicki Morrey

Vicki has recently retired from a long career in hospice and palliative care. She has served as both Clinical Director and Chief Executive of four hospices in England and Wales. A keen interest in strategic thinking and national policy led to close involvement with Hospice UK and serving as a Trustee of the National Council for Palliative Care for 10 years until retiring as vice-chair in 2014. Vicki was also a contributor to the national End of Life Care Strategy. She is married with two grown up sons.
