Lucie's story

'My husband, Mark, was always doing silly things and was never without his smile!

'Sadly, Mark was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We were so shocked! He had no symptoms at all.

'Mark deteriorated in August 2015. When I arrived at the hospice in tears, a nurse hugged me and reassured me that we were in the best place. She was right; the care Mark received at the hospice was incredible. Our gorgeous Labrador, Filimo, was able to come in for one last cuddle, and I held Mark's hand as he took his last breath. He was 34.' Read more.

Leave a gift in your will

Your willpower will touch the lives of our patients and their families. The gift of hospice care is a very special legacy.

Your will is one of the most important documents you'll ever write. It's a chance for you to help and provide for your loved ones, and to make a lasting difference.

As a charity, we rely on your generosity in helping us to continue our work. Over the years, the legacies we've been left have helped us help thousands of people.

There are several ways of giving. You could leave us a specific gift, such as a property, painting or antique, a set sum of money, called a pecuniary gift, or a residual gift: a share of your estate. Residuary gifts are exempt from Inheritance Tax, and can therefore benefit your estate and what you are able to leave to your family, friends and charities.

If you'd like to find out more about leaving us gift in your will, you're very welcome to call us on 01323 434214. We'll be happy to help wherever we can.

Thank you for thinking of us.
