"I've really enjoyed my afternoon and the opportunity to wander through this stunning space!  It would be a fantastic trip out anyway, but being able to do this in support of the hospice has made it extra special."

Open Gardens Visitor, 2014

Open Gardens

From perennial plants, ponds and ponies, to woods, wildflowers and waterfalls: explore some of the most beautiful private gardens in East Sussex...

Each year, friends of our hospice kindly open their gardens to raise money for the continued care of our patients and their families.

Whether you're a passionate gardener seeking inspiration, or you just wish to pop along and enjoy a cup of tea beneath the sunshine in a beautiful outdoor space, we'd love to see you this summer.

When? Saturday 29th April 2017 to Thursday 13th August 2017, with gardens open on various dates. All gardens are open from 11am to 4pm unless stated otherwise. Please note that the garden at 13 Bowden Rise, Seaford will be open on Sunday 21st May rather than the written date of Sunday 31st May.

Where?  We have gardens opening across East Sussex, in: Eastbourne, Polegate, Hankham, Cowbeech, Seaford, Selmeston, Willingdon, Friston and Hailsham.

How much does it cost to visit a garden? Admission to all gardens is free, however, you are welcome to make a donation to our hospice if you wish.

Tea, coffee, and a selection of lovely light lunches, as well as stalls and a raffle, will be available at some of the gardens.

To plan your visit, please download our Open Gardens leaflet, where you'll find full details about each open garden event.
