What volunteer role can I do?
We have many different volunteer roles at the hospice to suit different people and we’re always looking for new faces to join our amazing team. We have a volunteer induction process in place to support you in your role.
Hospice volunteer roles:
The role with the greatest number of volunteers is the host role and it reflects our view of volunteers as the lifeblood of the organisation.
In 2013, when we moved to our beautiful new building, we introduced this role to enable volunteers to work flexibly across the hospice and respond to changing demands.
Hosts work in the Inpatient Unit, the Wellbeing Centre and the Street Café providing a friendly smile and a listening ear whilst carrying out vital support tasks which means no day is ever the same.
We welcome volunteers with specific skill sets in areas such as hairdressing, complementary therapy and clinical admin. We also have a team of specialist
volunteers in bereavement support.
We have all kinds of volunteer roles to suit all kinds of people. Have a look at our current vacancies below or call us for an informal chat on 01323 434200.
We are always looking for volunteers in our busy retail sector. If you are interested in volunteering in retail then please visit our retail page.
